Publication Ethics
To uphold the veracity of the research record and the professionalism of authorship, ERJ has to maintain research ethics; therefore, the author must follow this guideline:
- The author(s) must submit their original research work.
- Author(s) should avoid misinterpretation of research results.
- Submitting work to more than one journal is unethical.
- The published work should not be submitted for publication in any other journal.
- Plagiarism must be avoided by the author(s).
- Proper acknowledgements to other works must be given and cited.
- The author should take the consent of all co-author(s) before submitting the manuscript.
- In case, the editor has to communicate with the author(s) regarding the submitted manuscript or post-publication requirement, it is the responsibility of the sole author (here the first name in case of more than one author) to inform all other co-authors about communication made between the editor and sole author.
- Changes in authorship and order of author(s) are not accepted after submission.
- A conflict of interest may exist when the result, conclusions, or judgment regarding the research is influenced by factors such as financial gain, association with any specific ideology, or personal relationships. All authors are required to disclose any financial gain, personal relationship, organization, or other associations that may influence or be perceived to influence, their work.
- In case any unethical practices are found in the manuscript, the sole responsibility will be of the author(s).

Withdrawal of Manuscript
The manuscript becomes the property of the Journal after its review is complete and the author has resubmitted the paper after the required revision. An author is not allowed to withdraw the submitted manuscript after that, because the withdrawal is a waste of valuable resources that editors, reviewers, and referees spent a great deal of time processing the submitted manuscript, and money and work invested by the publisher. If an author still requests the withdrawal of his/her manuscript when the manuscript is still in the peer-reviewing process, the author will deposit 100 USD per manuscript, as a withdrawal penalty to the publisher. Withdrawal of the manuscript is only allowed after the withdrawal penalty has been fully paid to the Publisher. If an author does not agree to pay the penalty, he/she will be blacklisted for publication in this journal. Even, his/her previously published articles will be removed from the online system.
Review and Publication Policy
Reviewers have an important role to play in the process of peer-reviewing. They put forth efforts for a fair and in time reviewing process for all received manuscripts. They ensure that only the research papers of the highest quality are published. This is indeed an important objective and the reviewers are highly appreciated for their valuable help in this regard. The submitted manuscripts will be considered confidential documents and without the permission of the authors, the unpublished manuscripts will not be shared, disclosed, or used. The process of reviewing will facilitate authors with an equal opportunity for publication. ERJ employs blind review with the reviewers of the manuscript unaware of the author (s) identity (ies) neither the author(s) know the identity of the reviewer (s).
The Chief Editor will solicit the reviewer with the title and an abstract of the manuscript via email. The reviewer will acknowledge by email whether he/she could serve as a reviewer. Once agreed to review the manuscript, it will be sent by the Chief Editor through email. The deadline for the review is preferably six while for major revision is three weeks. In case a reviewer needs more time, he/she will inform the Chief Editor about the expected date of completion. To download the review form, please click here.
After receiving the review report, it will be sent to the author (s). It is expected that the review carried out is sound and constructive.
Manuscripts that have previously been published in conference proceedings are also eligible for publication. Author (s) is/are however requested to cite previous publication and indicate that the submission contains different contributions beyond those of the previously published work. Author (s) must provide the Editor with a copy of the previous publication and a brief description of differences between the new manuscript and the old publication.

Waiver Policy
Electronic Research Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities (ERJ) is a self-supporting organization and does not receive funding from any private or government institution. Therefore, the journal is solely financed and managed through the fees received from contributing authors. Operation expenses like manuscript processing, editing, publishing, online availability, internet services, Webhosting, application development, and support, are met through this fee. Being an open-access journal, ERJ has no subscription fee and the contents are freely accessible to Internet users worldwide. The journal provides immediate free access to published manuscripts and the readers can view, download, print, and redistribute any article without any financial barrier, enabling greater distribution of an article.
Authors will be therefore required to pay a fair manuscript handling fee, since January 2020, for the processing of their articles. However, there will be no submission charges and payment will be made only after the acceptance of manuscripts for publication.
For authors, students, or institutions that may have limited or no funding for research, ERJ has instituted a generous waiver system to ease out the payment of the publication fee. Therefore, a 50 % discount is given to authors from the following countries:
Afghanistan, Angola, Benin, Bhutan, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cambodia, Cape Verde, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Djibouti, East Timor, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Gambia, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Haiti, Kiribati, Liberia, Madagascar, Malawi, Maldives, Mali, Mauritania, Mozambique, Myanmar, Niger, Rwanda, Samoa, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Solomon Islands, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania, Togo, Tuvalu, Uganda, Vanuatu, Yemen, Zambia.
Plagiarism Policy
Plagiarism is regarded as a serious offense and to ensure that there is no illegal form of copying, all submitted manuscripts are checked through Turnitin. All manuscripts containing plagiarism, including self-plagiarism, and dishonesty are either rejected or sent back to authors for removal of plagiarized content and re-submission.
By submitting a paper for publication to the journal, an author certifies that;
- He/ She is aware of the fact that plagiarism is wrong
- He/ She knows that plagiarism means using another person’s idea/published work and subsequently pretending it to be his/her own.
- He/ She declares that each contribution contains acknowledgment and source of information for others’ published/unpublished works through appropriate referencing.
- He/ She is solely responsible for any incomplete reference in the manuscript.
Anti-plagiarism declaration:
I have read and understood the ERJ rules on plagiarism. I hereby declare that this manuscript is my independent scholarly work and that in all cases material from the work of others (in books, articles, essays, dissertations, and on the internet) is acknowledged, and quotations and paraphrases are clearly indicated.
